Children on the slopes
We aim to make your family holiday as hassle free as possible and operate
a private minibus shuttle to your lessons and the slopes every morning.
We also have private ski lockers available closeby the main ski lift
and lesson areas, so you can store all your kit and change into some
comfy boots, go sledging, swimming or just potter round the town at
the end of your lessons.
For children (and their parents!), La Clusaz is ideal. There are two nurseries, Club des Mouflets and Club des Champions, the Piou-Piou club - a kids kindergarten with ESF instructors in the centre of the town, or structured 2hr ski lessons available from 4yrs+ with ESF and Snow Academie. Private tuition is also available from 3yrs+.
La Clusaz is a very popular resort with families and places in the kids clubs are limited, so we recommend booking nursery and kindergarten places as early as possible, especially if you are staying with us during the busier holiday weeks.
Child-minding by local English residents is also available at the chalet during the day or evening.
Club des Mouflets
La Clusaz's Club des Mouflets caters for younger non-skiing children from 8 months to 4½ years with a range of organised indoor activities. It has 34 places and is located in the centre of La Clusaz above the Tourist Office. For children under 12 months, their meals should be provided, for children over the age of one, meals can be booked on site, 48 hours in advance, but morning and/or afternoon snacks should be provided. All children's belongings should be clearly marked with their name. A BCG injection as well as documentary evidence of other vaccinations with dates will be needed.
The Club des Mouflets is open from 8:30 am to 12 pm and from 2 to 6 pm.
Club des Champions
The Club des Champions is for older skiing children from three to six years old. It has 40 places for children who undertake indoor activities such as collage and music and outdoor activities such as walks, making snowmen and sledging. A one hour ski initiation lesson in the ESF kindergarten, is offered at an extra cost for children aged three to five and a two hour group lesson for children aged five and over, with Flocon and etoiles tests. Parents must supply ski equipment for their children and documentary evidence of a BCG and other vaccinations plus dates will be needed.
The Club des Champions is open from 8:30 am to 12 pm and from 2 to 6 pm.
Piou-Piou Club
The Piou-Piou Club offers a pleasant and safe environment for children to learn to ski. Run by the ESF, it is open during the ski season from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 1:30 to 4:30 pm and during the February school holidays from 9 am to 1 pm and from 2 to 5 pm.
For children over five years old group lessons of two hours are offered.
Cross country skiing kindergarten
Run by the ESF, the cross country skiing kindergarten takes place on the Confins plateau and caters for children from four and a half years old up to 12 years of age. Group and private lessons are offered as well as cross country skiing tests.
