La Clusaz ski passes

We realise that on any holiday it's the extras which send the cost soaring, so we are here to advise on which ski pass and equipment is best for you and hopefully help keep the costs down.

We are are lucky enough to have good relationships with the local ski hire shops, so we can pre-order ski equipment at very competitive daily or weekly hire rates. Plus to help you get on the slopes as easily as possible we also offer a ski-fitting service at Chalet Fan La Bise.

Another important item to arrange in advance is ski insurance. There are loads of online companies who offer good packages and we advise all our guests to arrange adequate ski and travel insurance to cover any injuries, loss or damage to personal belonging or equipment during your stay, so you won't get caught out!

There are two main types of ski passes, the La Clusaz pass which covers 130km of pistes or the Aravis ski pass, 220km of pistes, and includes free bus travel between the other ski resorts covered on the pass. Children under 5 are free and adults over 60 get a seniors reduction. You can book ski passes online, at www.skipasslaclusaz.com

La Clusaz is a fantastic resort for skiers and boarders of all levels. Virtually any type of ski or board lessons are available in the resort with good English speaking instructors.

Private lessons for 1hr are 40 euros for 1-2, 50 euros for 3-4, 2hr are 78 euros for 1-2, 102 euros for 3-4. Ski school 9-11.45 5x2hr (Mon-Fri)lessons start from 126 euros pp or 6x2hr (Mon-Sat)lessons for 136 euros.

Private lessons, 42.5 euros for 1-2 for 1hr, 85 euros for 1-2 for 2hr, 200 euros for 3-8 for 4hr, 350 euros for 3-8 for a whole day. Ski school for children 5x2hr (Mon-Fri)lessons start from 120 euros pp or 6x2hr (Sun-Fri)lessons for 130 euros.

ARAVIS CHALLENGE - Tel: 04 50 02 81 29 / 04 50 02 41 93 www.aravis-challenge.com Aravis Challenge offers tuition in alpine skiing, snowboard, freeride-off-piste, freestyle, telemark and tour skiing. Private lessons from 40 euros for 1hr, plus 5 euros for every extra person, Children's group lessons max 8 people from 150 euros for 5x3hr lessons (9-12pm). 

Our on-site ski/board and boot rental is supplied by Sport 2000 and when pre-booked is delivered to Chalet Fan La Bise where it is fitted at your convenience. We have an extensive ski tech/storage area with boot warmers and comfy chairs, perfect for guests to avoid the queues and muddled French conversations in the ski hire shops, plus you recieve a 10% reduction offf the normal shop prices.

We carry a certain amount of stock for spares, so it's easy to change your boots or skis. We can also pre-book freestyle, free-ride skis or boards, touring skis and telemark skis.

We hire out on a day to day basis - so you only get charged for the days you actually ski.
