The la clusaz domain covers five mountains and offers extensive and varied runs, the majority of which are north-facing, which explains the good snow record of the resort.
The la clusaz lift system includes five cable cars, 16 chairlifts and 36 drag lifts. There are 25 green runs, 28 blue, 23 red and 7 black runs, not to mention the abundance of off-piste areas.
beginner boarding slopes
The wide, empty nursery slopes of the beauregard plateau are perfect for first-time boarders. Once you have mastered the basics, your first experience of chairlifts can be found on the long, tree-lined runs from the cret de merle.
Most of the beginner slopes are in close proximity to the mountain restaurants or town centre, which makes la clusaz an ideal beginner site for boarders, and parties of mixed abilities.
intermediate boarding slopes
La clusaz offers an abundance of boarding with long blue and reds in the la balme area. The high slopes of la balme hold the snow for eight months of the year and the area is a big favourite with intermediate boarders for its wide runs and fab off-piste.
The aiguille at la clusaz is the second highest area of the resort, and a good challenge for intermediates. It is accessed by chair lifts and half-way down is the snow park and boarder cross.
experienced boarder areas
La clusaz offers some fantastic opportunities for off-piste riding and exhilirating black runs at etale, combe de fernuy and la balme. All of which also have some awesome unbashed natural kickers.
There is plenty of backcountry off-piste including the cols of bellachat and grand combe, the porte des aravis and borderan, however guides and avalanche kit are essental before you tackle them.
